Responsible for handling of a variety of tasks, the most central of which are: Academic faculty (implementation of the full range of regulations governing the work of academic faculty: additional employment, teaching quotas, full-time commitment and more); academic resources and positions (managing allocation of academic resources, planning and oversight and use thereof); the Unit’s budgets, programs and projects; handling of contracts and external relations; coordinating scholarships and grants for hiring of new senior academic faculty funded by the Council for Higher Education’s Planning and Budget Committee and external foundations; managing the process of recruiting/intake of new immigrant scientists/returning citizens; and other tasks and assignments delegated by the Academic Secretary from time to time.
