Archaeology investigates the ancient cultures in Israel and the rest of the world via the material culture left behind by humans (different types of structures and artifacts).
The Department of Archaeology provides theoretical studies and practical experience in the field and laboratory. The Department of Archaeology offers students a broad and comprehensive education in a variety of subjects related to the archaeology of Israel, its neighboring countries, and the countries of the Mediterranean area, from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages.
Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology or a related subject with a minimum grade point average of 76-80, according to the program.
Department requirements specified on the department website.
A program with or without a thesis.
The Preservation of the Material Culture Heritage program.
Archaeology and the Bible (in conjunction with the Department of Biblical Studies).
An international program in Prehistoric Archeology.
Employment options upon graduation: Employment with the Antiquities Authority, in tourism, teaching in schools and in SHELACH (FNS – Field, Nation, Society) programs, in museums, education of archaeology and Israel studies, and in academic teaching and research.
